Oh Calgary! How I miss thee!

Had a blast in Calgary this past week. Glad to be home so the kids can get back into a regular routine. But I realized that I miss Calgary on a number of different levels.

First, I miss having family around. Even though Scott doesn't live there, he does come up often enough. How much more fun would it be if we were all in the same city!

Second, I miss the warmer weather. Apparently, while we were having nice days there over Christmas, it was still ridiculously cold up in Edmonton. Not every day, but often enough. It seems to be almost 10 degrees warmer in Calgary every day (at least right now). The winters were easier there. I'm more than willing to pay extra for all the windshield washer fluid you need for constantly melting streets.

Third, I miss the business of the city. Although I admit, I'm kind of torn on this one. It just feels like there are more opportunities, more action. I kind of like the space of our farmyard, and the lack of traffic, but I also miss the close interaction of people and the constant flow of life. Kind of torn about this one.

Sometimes I wish I was still there....

Next Sunday....

Yep, waiting for next Sunday. Know what's significant about it? No, it's not that I don't have to work (although that will be kind of nice). It's not that I'll still be in Calgary.

Next Sunday is the first time in about 2 weeks that the temperature will rise above -20.

Moving to Mexico.

Mmmmm...chocolates

Somebody brought in a huge honkin' box of Lindor Chocolates for Calvin and I. We've taken some home for our families. We've given some away to the people who come through. We've been eating them non-stop. We are now about half way through the box.

I'm in paradise!

How long will it take?

Yeah. I figure by now that you guys have given up on me ever updating, so I'm just going to see how long it takes to get noticed. This is not a promise to blog regularly. I go in cycles.
