Aaaaaah!

We had some serious issues with a youth all day yesterday, so I was exhausted. Then Avery discovered that he could get out of his new bed (not in the crib anymore) and we spent an hour and a half fighting to get him to go to bed. Plus two hours in the middle of the night. And now I've just spent all day dealing with more issues, and still have hardly accomplished anything. I'm going home to sleep. Except that I have to lead a small group study tonight. Sigh. At least they're all on my side....

A 3 year old?

Yup. Darrian is turning 3 on Monday. Kind of crazy. And we've got less than 7 weeks until the next one shows up (Feb. 20 or 21 - unless the hospital says differently than our doctor, which is a possibility). I keep hoping that Darrian will magically transmogrify into a polite, obedient little boy who doesn't ever fight with us or whine or look at us with that defiant glint in his eyes. Somehow I don't think it's going to happen. I don't want to limit God, but there are some things that I'm not sure He can even pull off! :) Okay, more likely He's just not interested in working that particular miracle in our life.

I can't really complain, thought. The kids have actually been pretty good. And so cute. I love 'em!

Tomato Sauce

So I come into the church yesterday to discover that Calvin (Sr. Pastor) is not there. I carry on doing the things that I need to do, all the while curious where he might be. Finally one of our elders comes in, so I ask him:

"Where's Calvin?"
"He's taking the week off."
"Oh."

And as I listen, I slowly dredge up some memories that yes, this was a week of holidays for him. And that means that I'm preaching on Sunday. Hmmm. Good thing that elder came in. So I think I'm going to preach on the book of Acts. The whole thing. Should be interesting. But instead of doing that, here I am, sitting at the computer, blogging. Bad me.

By the way, for those of you who are on MSN all the time and frequently bemoan my lack of presence, I'm having troubles with it. For some reason our internet has been really patchy the last couple of days, so I only get brief moments when I am able to surf the net or be on MSN. It's kind of annoying actually.
